What does it mean to be a Crossroads?
A Crossroads is a gateway to the universe of the Cultural Routes of Spain (CRS) and an informative brand ambassador., A place to receive information about the different cultural and historical itineraries of Spain's Cultural Routes.
Why are they important?
They are an opportunity for travellers and tourists to access over 5,000 kilometres of historic, signposted routes enriched with cultural content from Routes of Spain.
Also, They are portals through time in which it is possible to access various moments (and monuments) of History. (Prehistory, Roman Era, Middle Ages, Renaissance and Baroque) without needing to travel geographically, simply by accessing the information present on the web pages or in the stationery of the different routes. The Spanish Cultural Routes proposal links the country's tourist, natural, cultural or gastronomic geography with the aforementioned historical periods of Spain.
How many crossings are there in total and what are they?
The five Spanish Cultural Routes itineraries cover more than 40,000 years of history and pass through over 500 cities and towns spread throughout the country, but There are only 9 crossroads in all of Spain., distributed across 6 autonomous communities and 9 different provinces: Alcalá la Real, Carmona, Albarracín, Burgos, León, Ramales de la Victoria, Cáceres and Mérida.
