Paleolithic Park of the Cueva del Valle in Rasines

The Cueva del Valle Palaeolithic Park is a natural space where visitors will find the Cueva del Valle, from which a spring originates, giving rise to the Silencio River. The underground system housed within is known as Caballos-Valle, and it boasts 60.2 km of explored passages and a depth of 447 m. The palaeolithic park gets its name from the numerous prehistoric remains found there, in addition to its significant geological interest. During the self-guided visit, which is ideal for families, you can take a walk through the Cueva del Valle vestibule, as well as enjoy a life-size recreation of a mammoth. The tour is complemented by various interpretive panels detailing the habitat and ways of life during this prehistoric period. The visit can be completed with the itinerary at the quarry viewpoint, which showcases the industrial archaeology left by extensive activity related to limestone extraction. This display includes kilns, ore washing facilities, and more.
